What's Missing
I've been keeping a running list of things that are missing from Victoria, BC, for better or worse. Some of these things are just so greatly reduced in number that they may as well be missing. Here's what I have so far (besides things mentioned in earlier posts):
- SUVs
- Pickup Trucks
- People that look like Red Green, or Bob & Doug McKenzie
- My Credit History
- Drugstores
- Speed Limit Signs
- Tobacco Smokers ($8.50 per pack)
- Large People (measure however you want)
- Jagged Edges on Stamps
- Gas Station Price Variation (completely missing)
- "Servings Per Container"
- Short Term Loan Stores

how about American flags? (I just don't see Sean as a Canuck) Bet you aren't seeing too many of them. Or coming from the south (or the desert like me) how about Mexicans?
You're so right. It's like Victoria is its own little island of health crazy good looking people. It's strange. And I miss pick up trucks. Nothing is more fun than driving a Ford. Ok, there are things that are more fun, but it's pretty high up there.
Actually what I find interesting about the ethnicity here is the lack of graduate students from India. At Clemson, sometimes a majority of the graduate students seem to be from India for the engineering and science departments. Here, there are almost none. Instead, there is a large number from China. Maybe there is a political reason for this.
