Happy Thanksgiving!
Today is the day that we give thanks that we are nothing like Americans! We beat them to their own holiday!
Seriously though, one gets the [illogical] impression/feeling that there is more thanking going on here than in the U.S. Here, the holiday is not commercialized to anywhere near the same degree. That may be because it is still too early to do Christmas shopping. I don't see anything near the vast amount of decorations found on houses and buildings in the U.S. And, there is no Tim Hortons'/Eaton's Thanksgiving Day Parade (that I am aware of).

Ok, I had an anonymous person from near Columbus, Ohio leave me a profane comment to this post (which I have deleted). Apparently the sarcasm isn't loud enough, so I'll just point it out now.
So I see that you have made the transition from being 'American' to being 'Canadian'. That occurred much faster than I anticipated you ^#%#)* &$#*! whiny little *&@#!^!
(For the person in Columbus, OH - that's called a joke)
Uh, you do realize that Eaton's went out of business nearly 7 years ago now :).
I guess that's what I get for introducing you to "The Sweater" ;).
As it happens, Eaton's did host the largest parade in North America -- the Toronto Santa Claus Parade -- for most of the last century. Indeed, Macy's started their Thanksgiving Day parade 19 years after the Eatons Parade had started due in large part to the succcess of the Eaton's parade (ref: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eatons#The_Santa_Claus_Parade).
Eatons may be gone, but the Toronto Santa Claus Parade still exists. No more Punkinhead though...
Yes, I know they went out of business, but I thought I'd make up a parade hosted by them since you loved that hockey sweater so much. Little did I know there was actually a parade!
